This scholarship program was named in loving memory of Firstrust Bank Founder, Samuel A. Green, who was a staunch believer in encouraging young people to pursue their education and fulfill their dreams. In the spirit of his legacy, we are inspired to carry on our strong commitment toward helping students succeed.

Samuel A. Green, one of eight children, was born and raised in a small Hungarian farming town. Sam joined his family in Philadelphia in 1905, putting down roots and quickly becoming involved in the local community. Recognizing the opportunity to support the needs of the community, Sam started a savings and loan that is now a third-generation, family-owned bank. The Samuel A. Green Scholarship Program is one of the ways that we commemorate him and his commitment to helping others, while helping to support the needs and the dreams of young people in the community.
